Interested in adopting a Havanese through rescue? Please visit HavaneseRescue.com to see our dogs in foster care and ready for adoption. You can also apply online to adopt or to volunteer.
While you're there, be sure to check out our wonderful HavToHavIt store. All profits go to support our dogs in rescue.
Welcome to They're All Keepers, a website devoted to dog rescue and information about Havanese. There is a lot of information here. Please be sure to stop at the online identification site which has been developed to attempt to describe Havanese and 9 other similar appearing breeds that are being found in rescue situations as strays as well as in shelters, mill busts and hoarder break ups. The site will hopefully assist in the identification of these dogs.
The Identification Flyer is free to share, just please link back to the main site: www.theyreallkeepers.com Thank you!

I believe the solution to the puppy mill problem will take many approaches and the support of thousands. It's easy to become discouraged when you learn the truth behind the cute puppies in the pet store, but rather than being overwhelmed, please find an area in which you can focus your energies and begin to do something. Join a letter writing campaign, help pay for a billboard to educate the public about what a puppy mill is, join a pet store boycott, donate money to a rescue group or animal shelter, foster a rescued animal until a permanent home can be found, put up a display case in your public library to inform people about what a puppy mill is, volunteer at your local humane society, encourage a pet store to sponsor animals from the local shelter in their store instead of selling puppy mill bred pets or add some links about puppy mills to your own website. (See our What You Can Do site for 106 ideas of how you can help support rescue.) There's a lot one person can do. You'll make a difference and feel better about yourself and the world.
